Meet Alva D Bost

The Visionary behind Perpetual Care Group Home for Veterans

I lobbied heavily for the renovation and the preservation of the Ville because I am a native for 54 years. this is my home and these are my people!

For 24 years Alva D. Bost has successfully operated a business in the Ville of Saint Louis, Missour. When she began her journey there were derelict buildings everywhere. Throughout the years she has maintained a great rapport with all of the Aldermen and women such as Mike Mitchell, Ol Shelton, Peggy Ryan, the late but great Sam Moore, and Dwin Evans. She maintained connections with them to ensure they would have those buildings demolished. Alva lobbied heavily for the renovation and preservation of the Ville because she has been a native for 54 years.

She started her venture off doing child care, then transitioned to Adult Day Care where they care for participants 18 years of age and older with mental and physical disabilities. Eternity Adult Day Care offers a structured program with planned activities throughout the day. This includes field trips, and keeping their medical appointment. In addition, clients are taken to the grocery stores and they take them home.

GOD has extended the vision even further for another group of people who needed another layer of care and attention: VETERANS!

The biggest difference at Perpetual Care Group Home for Veterans is that the veterans will have a place they can call home and they will have 24-hour care.

Accomplishing this task has been no easy journey, but being the grandchild of a veteran gave her the strength to fight on their behalf. She often thinks of her grandad Lawrence Jones, a veteran who served in World War ll, in 1944. She couldn't fathom what his state of mind was like serving the entire country. Alva considers her frustrations to establish this facility small in comparison to the good men and women who fought for us to maintain the freedoms we have in our country.

Just like soldiers have their battles we have our battles and our responsibilities in our communities and none of us can make it alone. She has decided to play her part and is reverently grateful to all who played a role in bringing this dream into full fruition,
